Iris Virtual Assistants was born out of a love of the supportive PA role and a desire to do more to support, specifically female-founded, female-led businesses in uncertain times. The most successful people and businesses in the world are those that have dedicated support they can trust.
The events of 2020, including a global pandemic, have made us and so many others, especially business owners, reevaluate our work-life balance. Unfortunately, while we have made strides in recent decades, it is clear that women juggling work and family commitments become scapegoats in economic downturns. Did you know that in a recent survey by @PregnantthenScrewed, for every productive hour a woman worked during the 2020 lockdown, men worked 3 productive hours? Why? Childcare, which almost always falls to women.
We want women to know that not everything has to fall on their shoulders. We are passionate about supporting women in growing their own businesses and/or keeping their seat at the corporate table, by taking away the things they don't need to focus on, and reclaiming some very valuable time to focus on the things they do.
We succeed when you succeed.
Iris Virtual Assistants are a team of women and mums that understand juggling and want to work flexibly around their lives while offering that same flexibility and dedication to our clients. Flexibility will be key in a post-Covid working environment.
We wanted a name that both described us as Virtual Assistants and embodied our values.
The iris of the eye to represent our eye for detail.
The iris flower, a symbol of wisdom, trust, and hope.
And Iris, the Goddess of communication and new endeavours. Iris is represented by a rainbow, the universal sign of hope, and things getting better.
